I winded the boat very easily this morning using the method suggested in the Nicholson Guide ie bow to the towpath side and stern tucked in the corner and the river flow did the rest. We then put some more water in this morning as there is a little surprise down this end in that Broadford Bridge is only 6ft 4 inches high and was veeeery tight coming up river. This time we cleared it by about 4 inches but it looked as if the river was down as well.
The National Trust lengthsmen look after sections of the river and clear sections of the bank of growth where there is sufficient depth to moor. Tonight we have one of these spots above Bowers Lock and just before the weir- its lovely with warm evening sunshine.
