What a wey to leave The Wey

Sunday 14 June 2015

We are now back on the Thames after a wet grey trip down the last few miles of the River Wey- a very somber wey to leave the river which has been a most enjoyable trip and well worth the effort to visit it - thank you National Trust. We are now moored back on the Thames below Shepperton Lock on the free 24 hour moorings on the Weybridge side. We stopped here for lunch before starting our visit.

Our mooring for Thursday was the meadow below Triggs Lock

This canoeist decided to come down the lock with us - it concentrated the mind somewhat

When we came upstream we didn't appreciate how huge Coxes Mill was.

Its another and the last for the wey

These two canoeists had followed us for a while and then asked at Town Lock where is the Wey. It comes in from the right under the very ornate bridge. That's the wey  we need to go to complete our circular route back to where  we started.

Another sculpture I think of a heron-of which there are many on the river
