We finished the Oxford Canal part of our trip on Monday and came down the final part into the centre of Oxford and moored opposite College Cruisers on the 48 hour moorings. A very pleasant night and only a fifteen minute walk into the centre of Oxford.
This morning we moved off after the rain had stopped at 10 am to what would be our first taste of the Thames since we went to the Kennet & Avon in 2010 in sunshine. Alas we had some sun but we also had wind with huge gusts which made for a chilly passage through to Abingdon. The lockie recommended mooring downstream of the bridge would be better as it would be more sheltered than the field mooring above the bridge.
